People with visually impairments sometimes use screen readers to read and navigate web sites. This YouTube video shows how links, and especially those labeled “click here,” are interpreted by at least one screen reader.

The voice on the video urges people to use descriptive link text, instead of “click here,” just as usability consultant Jakob Nielsen wrote almost 4 years ago.

I hope to explore this issue further, but first would first like to get some feedback from people with impaired vision. Please comment and share links to sites that can help bloggers and site admins to make their sites more accessible. And feel free to point out all the accessibility flaws that I’m are embedded within my blog.
