These are links to select web pages recently bookmarked by members of my delicious.com network — and some opportunities inspired by those pages:
- A new Web application that (might) help pay for the news [Knight Digital Media Center] (from cophotog) - David Westphal thinks people would pay for an Information Valet project, an “interface that would be a one-stop shop for all registrations on the Web”. Opportunity: Become a part of existing efforts, like OpenID, that are positioning themselves for web-wide acceptance.
- TimeSpace: World (from kgreenbaum) – The Washington Post’s interactive map presents news from “around the globe” for a specified day and time. All links go to pages on washingtonpost.com. Opportunity: Build a similar offering, but with more than one news source.
- Old Media Out Of Touch in the New World (from yeltsinfina) – Louis Gray Jesse Stay says that bloggers often get news from people on the scene before traditional journalists and ”we don’t need reporters to represent that news for us any more.” Opportunity: Learn the tools of blogging for breaking news.

Of note, the article was by Jesse Stay who also writes for the site, and does a great job.

Louis, my apologies for that error. I’ve updated the text. You wouldn’t by chance buy the idea that I did that on purpose to display the power of community fact-checking, would you?
